The Brookings Rotary Club has launched its sponsorship of the Teen Career Corner at the Brookings Public Library. Funded in part by a matched grant from District 5610, the Rotary Career Corner will feature resources for teens to explore career opportunities in a comfortable, relaxed setting, including books and other printed materials, plus volunteer speakers representing various careers. Pictured below, Rotarian Kay Norton launched the series by introducing teens to the South Dakota Department of Labor website that allows young people to explore careers based on their interests, desired salary, level of education required, and availability of jobs. Next month’s program will feature speaker Chuck Bennis, who will talk about career opportunities in the fine arts.
