Happy August! Many of us are trying to get in the last summer “get away” before the routine of “school” gets started in the next 3 weeks. As I type, I am sitting by the outdoor pool preparing for my company’s summer conference. My family didn’t need to come along, but I encouraged them. We like to travel, experience new things, especially foods and spending time together. As I started my day, I got up early to stand in line (30 min+) to get a dozen of the famous Wyman Spudnuts Donuts. Was it worth the wait, yes it was! Rotary has become a family to me. Some of you are there weekly, others come occasionally, and there a few of you we would love to see! As we prepare for the year ahead, we have a wonderful milestone that we will be celebrating. On February 1st, 2020, we will celebrate our 100th Anniversary. There will be many areas in which we will need volunteers for. I encourage you to help where and when you can. Watch for the opportunities or if you have an idea, please don’t hesitate in contacting Don Norton or me.

What you put into something, is what you get out of it. I will give you my all this year, but I am always looking to improve. A quote I love by Betty Reese is, “If you think you are too small to be effective, you have never been in bed with a mosquito”. We need all of you! Is coming to the Rotary meetings, volunteering for the month’s service projects and just being part of the Rotary family important? Yes it is, so I look forward to seeing you this month of August.
