Brookings, SD — Brookings High School seniors Joseph Park and Donovan Kreul were honored as the Brookings Rotary Club’s September Students of the Month. 

Joseph is the son of Juyeon Park and Kunsoon Park of Brookings.  Some of his in-school activities include: National Honors Society, Marching Band, Drumline, HOSA, Science Olympiad, All State Choir, Jazz Choir, Quiz bowl, Musical Productions, and Soccer.  His honors and offices include: Marching Band Section Leader, NHS Vice President, National Merit Semifinalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, and various music competitions.Joseph plans to attend a four-year university to pursue math, pre-med, or music.

Donovan is the son of Melanie and Kyle Kreul of Brookings.  Some of his in-school activities include: Marching Band, Concert Band, Winter Drumline, Fall Musical Pit, and National Honors Society.  Outside of school, he enjoys playing guitar and has played in the pit orchestra for Prairie Repertory Theatre.  His honors and offices include National Honors Society President and All State Band.  Donovan plans to attend a four-year university to study mathematics.

Each month during the school year, the Brookings Rotary Club recognizes two students who excel in exhibiting their motto “Service Above Self” and fulfill the ideals of the Four-Way Test: Is it the truth?  Is it fair to all concerned?  Will it build goodwill and better friendships?  Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
