The New Year of Rotary is off and running! When thinking about why you joined Rotary, what is your Why? Service before Self is my why. I want and try to help as many people as I can. Everyone who joins Rotary does it for a different reason. Networking, fellowship, weekly lunch dates, service projects – the list goes on and on. As we move forward into the next term of leadership, we want to continue to inspire those around us to come to Rotary, inviting those who want to do more for our community and throughout the world. If I could share the world of Rotary, I would. As many of you know, I am an optimist and will always look for the positive. I am optimistic we will have an amazing year this year! My team that is on the Board with me are supportive and we work well together. We have many things happening this year! Our 100th Celebration of being a Club is in 2020! We will keep you posted on how you can help and get involved! Please know, if you have questions, suggestions, or anything you would like to visit about, I am ready to listen and take note.

I want to take the time to say a huge thank you to Steve Carnes for leading our Club this past year. His leadership has inspired us to continue to grow and shape our local club not only in Brookings, but in South Dakota and District 5610. I also want to thank everyone who has volunteered to be our board members and committee chairs. Again, we can’t do this alone so thank you for taking time out of your schedule to lead and be a part of Rotary. Remember, Service before Self. It will make you smile not only on the outside, but also on the inside.
